Τα Σχοινάρια βρίσκονται 33χλμ. νότια του Ρεθύμνου, 3χλμ. νότια του χωριού Λευκόγεια και ανήκουν στην ευρύτερη περιοχή του Πλακιά. Η παραλία είναι σχετικά άγνωστη στους περισσότερους, ωστόσο για πολλούς αποτελεί ένα επίγειο παράδεισο και δεν διστάζουν να την κατατάσσουν ως την καλύτερη παραλία της Κρήτης.
